Labor Doula Support

Joy N Birth labor doulas are trained professionals that regard birth as a natural, beautiful, and blessed time in one’s life. Each doula at Joy N Birth holds in high respect the honor that is bestowed upon them when being asked to attend one’s birth.

Each doula has her own unique way that she attends to the mother and we encourage you to meet each doula till you feel comfortable as to whom you choose to be with you at your birth. We also provide our own comfort tools but will discuss what tools you wish to use.

Labor Doulas offer the following and much more:

• Informational Support - We inform you of the medical vocabulary and procedures that are available
• Emotional - We understand the state in which a laboring mother feels and we work with each mother to help her find her labor routine. We encourage mothers and partners to explore different labor positioning and comfort measures. We set the scene for the birthing families and honor their birth plans.
• Comfort Measures - We like to use comfort measures for mothers in labor for many reasons. First all births are different and each one deserves their own identity. Second, no all mothers respond to one comfort measure the same so we provide a variety for the mothers to choose from.
